• When I was a small girl, in common with most young children, I enjoyed skipping.
  
  
• Being a girl, I naturally always had a skipping rope for birthday or Christmas - and my Dad always had a plentiful supply of rope which he would cut to length as each previous one was worn out.
  
  
• One of life's joys, I reckon, is skipping. I skipped just about everywhere with or without a rope. 
  
  
• Children can do it naturally. No tuition needed. One minute a child is walking - next thing you know, they're skipping down the road.
  
  
• One thing though - you have to FEEL happy in order to skip - it's just not something you can do when you're miserable.
